Our Daily Star Project

Make something everyday. Let's see how this goes... I recently received 365 A Daily Creativity Journal and am going to give it a try. The theme we've chosen is stars. My partner in this creative endeavor is my 1 1/2 (now 2 1/2) yr old daughter. I hope that some of our works will be great. I can guarantee that some of them will be fantastically kid sloppy and probably more than a few will be obviously done quickly due to lack of time, but it should be a fun experience to share with my daughter.

Day 152

Book idea: Create a Rube Goldberg machine.
The result: We got a wind up lady bug that flips over to flip over onto a star sticker, causing it to stick. Not really a Rube Goldberg machine, but we had fun.

Day 147

Book idea: Make something inspired by your favorite move.
The result: Little Miss likes the t.v. show Caillou and has a Caillou doll. I made a backpack for the doll using felt, a button and a little bit of sewing.

Day 146

Book idea: Create a visual definition of a word chosen randomly from a dictionary.
The Word: omphalos: the central point.
The result: I made Little Miss a top (that spins around it's central point) out of a cd, marble and bottle top.

Day 145

Book idea: Make something incongruous.
The result: Star signs; they say that some are incompatible with others (Yup, that's it). Little Miss thought the picture needed some work and took it to draw on right away.
